Our training philosphy relies on obedience training to enable you to
become the pack leader. Think about what obedience training does...it
allows you to communicate with your dog without yelling or losing your
patience. In turn, you and your dog become happier. Your dog needs and

LEARN TO OBEY WHILE YOU STAY
In other words...Board and Train. We will start the process of fixing those unwanted behavior problems we disccussed during your consultation. These programs are so successful because your dog receives consentrated work through out the day while staying with us, therefore speeding up the learning process.
We offer both overnight boarding or daycare training. This is super convenient for those of you who want your dog to learn while you are on vacation or at work.
Learn to Obey While You Stay programs are taught either on-leash or with a Remote Collar. Training equipment and all boarding costs are included with the training packages.

GROUP CLASSES
Basic Obedience:

No Pre-requisite to participate...This course is a great follow-up to our Puppy Preschool!!

Class is one time a week for 6 weeks. You must sign up at and participate from the beginning of the scheduled class.

Lessons 4 Life:
These classes are open to all graduates of our Learn To Obey While You Stay residential training. You have access to these classes for the life of your dog on an unlimited basis.

All Graduates: Saturday 11a-12p

Remote Collar Graduates: Tuesday 6p-7p

You begin the week your Learn to Obey While You Stay program is complete and participate for as long as you like...we recommend at least 6 sessions

Advanced Group Obedience:
Our Advanced training is designed to help you and your pet continue to learn, building on what you learned in Basic Obedience or in your Residential Training Package. We have several options that help you progress. In order to maximize the benefits of the training there are pre-requisites to each class that must be met.
- Remote Collar Advanced (On the Go Welcome): Tuesdays 7p-8p & Wednesday 7-8
- On-Leash Advanced: Wednesday 6-7
- Must have completed one of the following to participate:
- Basic Obedience Group Class
- Traditional On-Leash 5 Day Residential Program and Follow-up Lessons
- Remote Collar 5 Day Residential Program and Follow-up Lessons
- TUE CLASS IS OPEN TO ALL ON-THE-GO MEMBERS ON A REMOTE COLLAR
- $105.00 for 8 weeks or Included in your "On the Go" membership
Advanced "On the Go" Membership
- Must have completed one of the following to participate:
- Advanced Group Obedience Class
- Remote Collar Residential Program
- Includes:
- Unlimited Access to Saturday's 12:30p Field Trip/On the Go only class
- Unlimited Access to Tuesday's 7p-8p class
- Unlimited Access to all other Advanced Classes as they are scheduled
- $35.00 per month, payment due the first class of each month
PUPPY PRESCHOOL
Puppy Preschool is a four week group class designed to build early socialization skills and confidence in young puppies. Owners are taught proper handling and care of their pet and how to direct their puppy so that it develops into a well rounded adult. This is a great way to prepare your puppy for obedience training.
If you complete Puppy Preschool with us and then decide to do a "Learn to Obey While You Stay" program in the future we will deduct the cost of your Puppy Preschool from the package price.
Start any Saturday at 10:00am...The class is 4 weeks long so as long as you attend 4 weeks in a row you will receive all the information....$49.00
AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN
Mike Loesche of Homeland K-9 is an approved evaluator for AKC Canine Good Citizen certification.
"CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Many dog owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events." (AKC Website www.akc.org/events/cgc/index.cfm)
PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are for owners who do not want to learn in a group setting but want to be present for all lessons. This type of training can include an individual or a family with their pet. These are tailored to the individual dog's needs and usually is used to address specific behavior problems rather than obedience training.
TEMPERAMENT TESTING
Homeland K-9 will temperament test your puppies so that you can place them with the appropriate owner or for a specific need. This service is ideal for breeders. It is best to do this around the 49th day of the dog's life. Temperament testing is a fairly reliable predictor of the dog's personality, ability to be socialized, and training ability when he/she reaches maturity.
