Training Dogs all over the Cincinnati and Dayton area!!
Meet Our Team
Mike Loesche, Homeland K-9 Owner and Head Trai
Mike started his dog training journey over ten years ago while working in the Ohio prison system. He was asked by a friend and fellow Correction Officer to help head up a new program, Rover Rehab, in the prison.
Mike and his friend would get "problem" dogs that could not be adopted from a local shelter and train them to become good family pets. It was the last chance for these dogs... if their behaviors couldn't be fixed, they would be put down.
He got to work... not only training these dogs, but also training convicted felons how to train dogs.
The result?
Mike saved over 200 dogs from being killed and placed them with new families all over Southwest Ohio.
During this time Mike realized his calling in life was working with people and their dogs. He quit his "secure" state job to go to the internationally known school for dog trainers, National K-9 in Columbus, Ohio.
After graduating as a Master Dog Trainer, Mike set out to build his business helping people with their dogs. Mike and his wife Kim started from scratch with no customers, no building, no equipment, no connections, and on a shoe string-budget.
Since then Mike has helped hundreds of dog owners to have better relationships with their dogs. And now he has recently opened a new training facility, Homeland K-9 Dog Training Academy in Springboro, Ohio.
Mike specializes in quickly turning "problem dogs" into good family pets. He can change a dogs behavior in just a couple minutes and have reliable obedience in less than a week. Even for those serious problem dogs that other trainers couldn't fix, he has successfully transformed them into good family pets.
By continually developing cutting edge ways to train dogs, Mike gets results most trainers can only dream of.
As a United States Marine serving with a Scout Sniper Platoon, Mike is a proud veteran of Desert Storm. He holds numerous Shooting and Tactical certifications from top schools around the country. Currently, he also teaches NRA Concealed Carry classes.
Most importantly, Mike is a Christian. He gives credit for all the blessings in his life to God and tries to honor Christ in all he does.
Mike and his beautiful wife Kim have three great kids Derek, Miranda, and Lila. In addition, they have two family dogs... Max, an American Bulldog, and Axle, a Miniature Dachshund.
