I have a 3 month old German Shorthaired Pointer. She is really good about not pulling on the leash when we are going for a walk, even if we walk past another dog or person. We bought the "Gentle Leader" face harness for her and it works even better but it's not really necessary. However, in a public setting such as Puppy Preschool or at the pet stores, she pulls for all she's worth and causes heavy breathing and bald spots around her neck. The harness does not work when we are not walking b/c she constantly paws at her face and shakes her head trying to remove it if we are standing still, so it does not do any good at preschool or the pet store. Any advice? I'm also interested in the remote training but do not want to get myself into it without the proper training. I cannot seem to find anything on this site about remote training (when it's offered, prices, puppy age appropriateness, etc.) just know that Mike offers it. Thanks!

Give me a call...we start Remote Collar Training as early as 4 months old. We do this as part of a Residential Training Package or you can opt for 2 private lessons then ongoing group classes. If you are a graduate of Puppy Preschool we will deduct the the cost of Puppy Preschool from the Residential Package. We specialize in Remote Collar training and have had such success that we feel this is the best type of training out there. We fully train you on how to properly use the collar and communicate the commands with your dog and offer ongoing suport.
This is a great way to have control over your dog in the home or in public. For the imediate solution, we do not generally recommend a Gentle Leader. A training collar (what some people call a "choke chain") is a better training tool.
I believe you are currently in Puppy Preschool so feel free to talk to me if you see me there Saturday or call me...we can talk more about it 513-218-4833 or 937-748-1370. Mike
